In 1986, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and visions of his own firm, John Ferguson founded Ferguson Properties, Inc. starting with a partnership to develop a 200-acre industrial park. That successful development led to many more, built on a commitment to quality, top-notch service and solid lasting relationships, many of which continue today.

John H. Ferguson


John is an experienced financial executive with a proven record of success in commercial banking, land acquisition, project development, hotel development, and real estate syndication. In addition to his leadership role as President of Ferguson Properties, John has served as President or Chairman of numerous community and financial-based organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Council, and the Missouri Real Estate Board. John's current focus is the company's burgeoning hotel development division. John enjoys spending time with his wife, Judy, their three children and their children's growing families. He is an avid golfer and a fan of K-State, his alma mater.

Jay Fergson

Jay Ferguson


Jay graduated from the University of Kansas, majoring in Business Communications. After college, he went to work for the Eli Lilly & Company pharmaceutical company and lived in Springfield, MO for three years. He made the switch to Ferguson Properties in 2005 and is now the President, overseeing the broker staff. He specializes in Tenant Representation, Landlord representation, Retail Brokerage and Retail Development. In his free time, Jay likes to spend time with his wife, Rebecca and their daughters, or out on his farm, where he raises Angus cattle.

Jeff graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a major in Agricultural Business. He joined Ferguson Properties in 2005 and currently serves as Vice President. Jeff focuses on tenant representation and hotel development and is an active member of ICSC. He works exclusively with tenants like O'Reilly Automotive and landlords such as Realty Income and Revesco Properties. Jeff is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time on his cattle ranches.

Jeff's tenant client list includes: Cato Fashions, O'Reilly Automotive, Sonic Drive-In, Taco Bell and Versona Accessories.

Jordan Zenger

Jordan Zenger

Executive Vice President

Jordan graduated from Kansas State University with a B.A. in Geography. He also earned a Master's of Urban Planning from the University of Kansas, with a dual concentration in real estate development/finance and urban design. After earning his Master's, Jordan spent five years working as a Research Analyst for CGI Federal. Jordan has been an associate at Ferguson Properties since early 2014 and is involved with tenant representation, brokerage, and landlord representation. In his free time, Jordan enjoys following K-State athletics, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Colleen Pratt, CCIM

Senior Broker Associate

Colleen graduated from Wichita State University in May 2015 where she majored in Marketing with an Emphasis in Real Estate. After earning her degree, Colleen moved to Kansas City and joined Block Real Estate Services, LLC (BRES) as a retail sales associate for two years. At BRES she was responsible for leasing retail space in existing shopping centers, shopping centers under development, and tenant representation throughout the Kansas City Metro.  Colleen has been a commercial sales associate at Ferguson Properties, Inc. since October of 2017.  She specializes in retail property leasing, sales, and tenant representation in Kansas and Missouri.  She is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Women in Commercial Real Estate Development (WIRED), and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). Colleen is a licensed broker in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa.

Michelle Smith

Office Manager

Michelle joined Ferguson Properties in July 2021, accepting the role of Office Manager, as well as an Executive Assistant for Jay. Michelle comes to us with over 15 years of front office, administrative and marketing experience. She is highly organized and effective in handling multiple projects, creating and tracking PSA timelines for real estate pursuits and partnerships.

Michelle works closely with brokers to assist in the development of site tour presentations and marketing brochures by researching demographics, growth patterns and projections. She handles and maintains the property listings by creating and updating property highlights, photos, creating or revising site plans, and producing regional and market aerial maps.

When Michelle is not organizing the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, photography, gardening, and health & wellness. She is currently pursuing her interests in GIS, Adobe PS & AI, and studies with an emphasis in commercial real estate marketing.
